How we test, review & score

1. What we cover

We review products that matter to Indian buyers — phones, laptops, audio, wearables, smart home gear and accessories — priced from budget to flagship. We prioritise popular, newly-launched and frequently-searched products. No product is covered because a brand paid us, and brands never see a review before you do.

2. How products get tested

Every review starts with the product being used as our primary device for at least a week — as a daily driver, not a bench sample. We test in real Indian conditions: dual-SIM standby, hot-weather battery drain, network reception indoors, and everyday camera shots rather than studio-perfect ones.

• Performance — real-world app launches, gaming sessions, and thermal behaviour, with benchmark numbers (AnTuTu, Geekbench) reported as reference points, never as the verdict.
• Display — brightness under sunlight, viewing angles, colour accuracy out of the box, and refresh-rate behaviour.
• Camera — day, night, low-light and video across all lenses; we judge output, not megapixels.
• Battery — typical mixed-usage drain with calls, 5G, streaming and social apps, plus charging speed and temperatures.
• Audio — speaker quality, headphone output, and microphone clarity on calls.

3. The scores

A product page shows two kinds of scores, plus a combined one:

• Editorial review score (/5) — our reviewer's overall verdict from the linked review article.
• Reader rating (/5) — the average of every star rating left by readers on the product page.
• Combined score — the editorial score weighed like three reader votes, blended with the reader average. A single reader can't move it much; a hundred readers take over the verdict. When there are no reader votes yet, the combined score is the editorial score.
• Category sub-scores (/10) — separate Display, Performance, Camera, Battery and Audio grades, shown as a radar chart. These are the raw material behind the editorial score.

4. Prices, deals & affiliate links

Prices are tracked daily and shown with their history so you can see whether a "deal" is real. We may earn a small commission when you buy through our store links — that never changes a rating or a recommendation. See our affiliate disclosure for the full policy.

5. Corrections & updates

Reviews are living documents. When a software update changes a phone, when a price materially shifts, or when we get something wrong, we update the article and show the "Updated" date on it — the original publish date stays visible. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the article. To report an error: contact us and we'll act on it.
